Those wanting to provide services or products to other private business entities, or, departments of motor vehicles, transportation, public safety sectors of North America. Mike Rankin developed these relationships with decades of law and law enforcement experience; 5 years on the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators board that serves the North American motor vehicle regulatory community; and, as a 12 year board member and Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission Chairman responsible for oversight of funding approvals for improving Mid-Ohio transportation & ensuring planned growth in Mid-Ohio with quality of life projects.
Mike’s commitment to commencing a needed long term top to bottom innovation of a local govt. agency (still ongoing), lasted for 4 years and 4 months ending March 7, 2025. This effort started at the request of then newly elected one term (by choice), county prosecutor Gary Tyack ( Jan. 2021-Jan. 2025). With the full support of the retired Appeals Court Judge turned Prosecutor, Mike proceeded to work on improving processes within the broader countywide criminal justice eco system (CJS). Convened the Real Time Crime Information Center (RTCIC) Task Force in Feb. 2021. The RTCIC helped get the same funded to be a digital evidence, crime fighting-force multiplier manned facility leveraging the power of some 2,000 video cameras, license plate readers, shot spotter receivers, body worn cameras & police cruiser video evidence. RTCICs, in-part, help: police to reduce crime rates; prosecutors to secure convictions on good digital evidence; and, helping increase successful diversion rates for those wanting out of addiction and those other contributors leading to crime.
Landed a $1.6 mil. ARPA grant to increase the staff with needed asst. prosecutors and retention payments to all staff. This to retain experienced staff post COVID to better deal with the backlog of cases due to COVID court closures & delays.
Engaged with area law enforcement partners to help launch other crime fighting initiatives including: a. polite persistence in getting the Juvenile Court to better address violent juvenile offenders; b. launch of the Central Ohio Crime Gun Intelligence Center (CGIC) in July 2023. The CGIC also employs proven intelligence led public safety technology to reduce gun related crimes.
Service as an expert witness on DMV issues in several Ohio federal court civil cases; and, one AAA national arbitration that affirmed the right of legitimate DMV supporting vendors, to advertise online.
Ultimately only the client can win and retain the customer’s business with quality services, performing as promised and maintaining a healthy dose of integrity and authenticity in all dealings.
